Man oh man, talk about long time no blog, right! I had every intention of blogging last week, and then I just got busy with the three day weekend which turned into a three day work week for me because family came into town on Friday for my baby shower.
But I’m back, and hopefully I’ll be able to have a little bit of a schedule this week for blogging. Anyways, this weekend was definitely one for the books, not only because it was a long weekend, but also because it was my baby shower as well! So let’s get into some weekending with the always amazing Biana!
My baby shower was Saturday, and I was so excited that my family and friends were going to be there, but also because Chris’s family was coming in town for the shower as well! One of Chris’s brothers and his family arrived late Thursday night, along with his parents, so Chris and I took the day off from work to spend with them.
The guys wanted to spend some time golfing, and since a cold front had just pushed through, they woke up early Friday morning and went out for the day. The girls and kids hung out around the house a little bit before heading to a trampoline place where the kids got to bounce around for a little bit and get some of their energy out.
While it has been cooler lately, it still feels like summer here in Texas, which means that our neighborhood pools are still open. So later on that evening we all got our bathing suits on and went to the pool for the rest of the evening. Our neighborhood had just gotten a splash pad along with some slides as well, and they were finally open. Everybody, big kids (adults) and little kids alike loved going down those new slides! We ordered pizzas for dinner and had them delivered to the pool, and it was the perfect end to our day.
Saturday was the day of the shower, and I have to admit that I was up early partially because I was so excited about it! The morning went by very fast and before we knew it, it was time to head to my friend’s house for the shower!
Literally everything about the shower couldn’t have been more perfect. My friends Sarah and Kayla did an outstanding job with all of the little details of the travel themed shower for my little girls, and I can’t thank them enough! They had hot air balloons and maps and adventure related everything and it was so incredibly precious! Even the food was all travel themed! They had mini quiches from France, meatballs from Italy, hummus and veggies from Greece, chips and salsa and guacamole from Mexico, and pot stickers from China. I loved absolutely everything about it!
The girls are seriously already so loved by everybody, and I was so blown away by everybody that came to the shower, and everything that we received. I’m already so excited for them to get here so we can put them in all of the cute clothes that they got, but also so we can use all of the fun things that we received as well. I can’t say thank you enough to everybody that came and everybody in our life that has supported us and continues to support us.
After the shower, we went back to the house and before we knew it, it was time to start getting dinner prepared. My sister came over to eat dinner with us, and we got some of the sides prepared and food prepped for the kids while Chris cooked the steaks in the sous vide and then seared them in the cast iron skillet. It had been forever since we had steaks, and these definitely didn’t disappoint!
After dinner, the kids played some more before heading to bed, and then the adults got to have some adult time and we played some Cards Against Humanity! Chris got the Bigger, Blacker Box, and it was fun to see some of the new cards that were included in this batch.
Before we knew it, Sunday was here, and it was time for everybody to head back home. We spent some time hanging out that morning before everybody left around lunchtime. The rest of our Sunday was spent relaxing and getting some chores done around the house like laundry and picking up.
This weekend was the best weekend in a really long time, and if this is any indication of how September is going to be, then I know that it’s definitely going to be a lot better than August!
How was your weekend? Have you enjoyed some cooler and more fall like weather?
