Happy second Monday in October everybody! It’s still so surreal that it’s already the second Monday of the month, especially since it’s still so hot in Texas so it doesn’t feel like fall, plus it just means that I’m that much closer to my due date! I’m already 33 weeks, and it still doesn’t feel real! I’m hoping to get another bumpdate up this week, so hopefully you can look for that on Friday. Anyways, in true Monday fashion, it’s time for a little weekending with the always fabulous Biana!

The Wandering Weekenders- The Weekend Of Getting Baby Stuff Done

Friday

Things were going really well at work with our quarter end close, but with the Astros playoff game potentially ending right around the time that I normally get off work, I decided to head out of the office about 5 minutes early. It was so nice because I was able to get out of the office and home at a decent time.

Our neighborhood has started up Food Truck Fridays again, which I think happens every other week or once a month, but basically they get a whole bunch of Food Trucks at the front of the neighborhood with some music and basically gives everybody a chance to get together and eat some food. Chris and I had never been, but thought that it’d be a fun way to spend our Friday night so we decided to go.

They had about 6 or 7 food truck there and Chris and I had fun getting to try a little bit from a few different ones. We tried some tacos and empanadas, and then of course we couldn’t pass up cupcakes for dessert. It was also a lot of fun to see how many young parents there were in the neighborhood, and surreal to think that in just a few short months that’ll be us!

We spent the rest of the night just relaxing at home and watching movies that were on TV. It was nice to have a quiet night at home without any plans after having such a busy past few weeks.

Saturday

Sleeping in has definitely been a priority the past few weekends since I know that it’ll be in short supply once the babies get here, and this weekend was no different. I slept in a little bit Saturday morning before waking up to shower and head over to my friend Sarah’s house. It had seriously been forever since we’d gotten to hang out, and this weekend couldn’t have been more perfect.

I drove over to her house and spent the afternoon just hanging out with her and her daughter. We had some Chick-fil-A for lunch and then just hung out at their house for the afternoon talking about anything and everything, although there was a lot of baby talk, and we started watching the second season of Fuller House and even snuck in some Real Housewives in there too! We had such a good time that we decided to do the same thing next weekend! I already can’t wait!

I came home later that afternoon, and Chris and I watched the Aggie game. To be honest, neither one of us had high hopes for actually beating Bama, so I think that we were both pleasantly surprised with how well we played against the Tide and how close the game actually was. Were you at least a little bit nervous Nadine?

One thing that I really want to do before too long is get some freezer meals ready for when the girls get here, so Chris and I went through a lot of our recipes and we figured out which ones we want to make and got our grocery list ready during the game. Now we just need to buy everything and start prepping!

Sunday

Surprisingly we slept in again Sunday morning before finally waking up and getting the day started. We hadn’t received our coupon to complete our registry yet, but we went on ahead and made our way to Buy Buy Baby to get everything else that we needed from our registry. The people at the store were very nice and gave us our coupon at the store and also gave us our twin discount as well because we seriously have no idea when the girls could get here.

The Wandering Weekenders- The Weekend Of Getting Baby Stuff Done

The rest of the afternoon we spent running errands and grocery shopping before heading home for the day. We had a lot of baby stuff that was just sitting in the game room so we went on ahead and got all of that organized along with getting everything put away in the nursery. Literally everything is done and ready for the babies to get here, except for getting the hospital bags ready to go. I’m hoping to get that done sometime this week or next weekend, and then all we have to do is wait! So crazy!

After going so much the past few weeks it was really nice to just have a weekend at home to get baby stuff done and to relax for a little bit too. Once our sweet girls get here I know that we’ll be so excited, but I also know that we’ll be super busy, so I’m trying to soak in as much relaxing and doing nothing until they get here. So the next few weekends will probably not be very exciting around these parts, but I know that we’ll definitely be enjoying them!

Did you have a fun weekend? Does your neighborhood have Food Truck events?

A nice relaxing weekend at home getting baby stuff done around the house. We are in full nesting mode getting ready for the twins!

  • Food trucks are my fav! I love getting to taste different things and everything is always so yummy! Glad you guys got to spend some time relaxing and getting baby stuff done this weekend! Getting so close now! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

    • I love food trucks too, which is why I love that they’re so popular right now! It always amazes me how many different types of foods you can try when there’s a lot of food trucks around. It really is so crazy how close the babies are to getting here! I feel like as much as we do, we’ll still never feel 100% ready for them to get here, but at least we’re getting some stuff done!

  • what a good weekend! mix of relaxation and productive. glad you got some more things knocked off your list. and who doesn’t love food trucks? so fun to try different stuff 🙂

    xoxo cheshire kat

    • It really is so much fun to get to try so many different types of foods when there’s a big grouping of food trucks around, and they really did have so many around that Friday night. And I feel like we’ve been super busy lately, so I loved that we had some time to just relax, and I’m hoping that we’ll get to relax a little bit more this coming weekend!

  • Living on Cloud Nine

Food Truck Friday….YUM! So glad you’re taking this time to relax and you’re so good at organizing and prepping so that will be such a blessing when the darlings arrive!

    • Food Truck Friday was awesome, and I hope that it happens again soon! And that’s what I’m hoping for by doing all of the leg work now, that hopefully we’ll be ease into things when the babies get here!

  • Food trucks and Chic Fil A – YUM! It’s still be super hot here too, usually by this time it’s still warm but starting to cool off. Hoping it’ll break soon and be more comfortable for all the fall fun <3

    Green Fashionista

    • We actually just got a break this past weekend, and it feels so glorious outside, although it felt that way last week and it got warm pretty quickly afterwards. And the food trucks and Chick Fil A were so awesome last weekend! I loved getting to try out a few different types of food from all the food trucks!

  • Nadine

Hahahahaha. While I wasn’t exactly nervous during the game, I was surprised that you guys got some serious points on the board. Saban kindly reminded the fan base that not every game can be 61 to 3. Ugh. LOL.

So exciting that you guys got so much baby stuff done!!!!! If you haven’t already….make sure you order some of the cloth diaper style burp clothes from Amazon. Kristen bought me some for Zoe and they are seriously THE BEST and ONLY burp clothes I have used…and still use daily. All the cute printed ones are fun and all, but nothing does the job like those suckers, and with two…you are going to need them!! I think these are the ones I have https://www.amazon.com/Gerber-Birdseye-3-Ply-Prefold-Diapers/dp/B007VBYVWE/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1507562509&sr=8-1&keywords=cloth+diaper+burp+clothes

    • It’s so funny that you said that about getting the simple white burp cloths because my friend that just had her baby about a month ago just sent me those exact same burp cloths because she said the exact same thing! We have some swaddles that are fun with cute prints that I think that we can use as burp cloths, but whatever happens I think that we’ll be going through them like crazy!

And I was seriously so surprised that we held our own against y’all! I think that the theme this season is going to be that we play up or down to the team that we’re playing because we definitely didn’t play that well against Florida.

  • shootingstarsmag

Sounds like you got a lot of great things done for the babies! That Food Truck Friday event sounds awesome. I LOVE food trucks.

here from the Weekending link up!

    • I love food trucks too, especially because you can usually try out a wide variety of food without having to go to multiple places. And I’m so glad that we were able to get so much done for the girls, and I’m hoping we’ll be able to get everything else checked off this weekend!

  • Biana Perez

I love food trucks and getting to taste test different things!! Such a fun thing to do over the weekend! I love that the store gave you a twin discount – that is pretty amazing! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

    • We were actually surprised by how many stores will give twin discounts, you just have to ask them for it. We’ll definitely take all the help we can get though! And that’s my favorite part about food trucks too! There’s always just a wide variety of foods to try!

  • That food truck fair looks like so much fun- I love when you can try different things all from the same place. You’ll have to share what freezer meals you decided to make once you get everything together– it sounds like a really productive weekend in getting things picked out for the girls!

    • I definitely will! Pinterest was such a great place to go when we were trying to figure out freezer meals, but I definitely still had some questions which hopefully I could answer. And that’s my favorite part about food trucks too! When there’s a lot of them around you really can try out so many different types of food!

  • How fun to have the food trucks right in your neighborhood! Yay for getting so many baby things done! Only things I have left is the hospital bag and washing newborn clothes.

    • I loved that they were right there in the neighborhood too, it was so convenient and it was a nice changeup from just going out to dinner. And we still need to get our hospital bags ready to go too, but I’m hoping that’ll happen this weekend!

  • It’s been a while since I’ve eaten at a Food Truck but I think it’s always fun to taste test different foods. So exciting the girls arrival is coming up quickly. The freezer meals sounds like a great idea to prepare in advance and get all the rest while you can! xo Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis

    • That’s exactly what I was thinking because I know that the last thing that will be on my mind when the girls get here is what we’re going to eat for dinner. And I know that I won’t want to eat out all the time either! The food trucks were such a blast, and I loved getting to try out different foods! That’s my favorite part too!

  • Jen

I love that you neighborhood does food truck friday! That sounds like so much fun. 🙂 You can’t beat being able to try a ton of different foods. 🙂 Such a great weekend.

    • I loved that our neighborhood put all of this together too! It was so much fun to get out for a little bit and try out some different food. I’m hoping that they’ll start it up again soon!

  • I know you are getting excited.
Thank you for your kind words today.

    • You’re so welcome. We went through something similar with Dart earlier this year and it was so tough, and I know that it’s the worst thing for a fur mama.
We’re getting super excited about the babies, but it’s still so surreal that they’re almost here!

  • Christina Sotherden

I bet it’s such a relief to have so much done! Food truck Friday sounds like such fun!

    • It really is! I feel like we still have so much to do, but hopefully we’ll be able to get them knocked out this weekend! And Food Truck Friday was awesome, and I’m hoping that they’ll do it again soon!

  • Ashley Angle

Yay for food trucks! It hasn’t felt like fall here in MICHIGAN either! Yay for getting baby stuff done! I hope they stay in there as long as possible, but you never know!

    Ashley @ A Cute Angle // acutelifestyle.blogspot.com

    • That’s exactly why we’re trying to get as much done as possible before the girls get here because with twins you never when they could get here. I guess that technically they could come at any day! And the food trucks were so much fun, and I hope that they do it again soon!

  • food truck friday sounds awesome! you are so prepared and i didn’t realize we are so close in due dates (originally). i can’t wait to see these twinsies!

    • I thought that was so funny too that our original due dates were so close! I feel like there are so many of us that are all due around the same time period! I hope that everything went well for you and your little girl today! Sending you lots of prayers and love!

  • So wish Singapore did food trucks… I can’t wait to hit some up when I’m back in the States!! Sounds like a great, relaxing weekend while still getting stuff done!

    • That’s a bummer that food trucks aren’t a thing in Singapore, although y’all have markets and that’s definitely something I wish that we had more of in Texas. And we definitely were able to get a lot done, and hopefully we can get a more done this coming weekend!

  • Have you ever seen Chef? Because of that movie, I have a love of food trucks so I’m jealous of this event by you – it looks so fun! So glad for you that you have everything finished for the girls’ arrival, can’t believe they will be here soon!

    • We actually watched Chef a couple of years ago, and we loved it so much! It was such a fun concept for a movie to show the food truck driving cross country. And this event was so much fun, and I loved that it was right in the neighborhood! Hopefully they do it again soon! And we still have a few things left to do, but I’m so glad that we have the big stuff done!

  • A Food Truck Friday sounds like such a great way to meet some new neighbours (and stuff yourself with delicious food, yummm). Such a good idea! Glad you’re all organised for the babies, that must be a weight off your mind. I can’t believe they might be here soon!

    • We still have a few things left to do, but I’m so glad that the big stuff is done! They’re going to be here so soon, but hopefully they’ll stay baking for a little while longer! And the food trucks were so amazing, and I hope that they do it again soon! It was so great to get out into the neighborhood again, and hopefully next time we’ll meet some more of our neighbors!

  • Eek time is flying! I bet y’all go to a lot more food truck Fridays once the girls are here and you can just stroll over. I’m getting so excited for you. Also, chick fil a and fuller house sound fabulous. That show is my favourite cheesy guilty pleasure.

    • I’m so surprised that it took me so long to actually watch season 2 since season 3 is already out! I did start watching it again today, and I bet that I end up flying through it since I love it too! And that’s exactly what I thought about the Food Trucks, that we’d end up going a lot more once the girls got here. There were a lot of babies there this past time, so we’d definitely fit right in!

  • This sounds like a totally awesome weekend: hubby time, friend time, and baby prep!! You are getting so close!! yay!!!

    • I seriously can’t believe that it’s almost time for the girls to get here! it’s so exciting, but also so scary too! And it really was a great weekend, and I’m hoping we’ll be able to get the rest of our to do list for the girls crossed off this coming weekend!

  • Sounds like you guys had a good and productive weekend! And glad that you got to sleep in a little, too! That’s so smart to make freezer meals ahead of time. That will definitely come in handy once the girls arrive. Looking forward to your bumpdate on Friday! Have a great week, Ashley!

    xo, Rachel
    A Blonde’s Moment

    • I know that the last thing that I’m going to want to do once the girls get here is cook dinner, so I’m very much looking forward to the freezer meals to let us eat some healthier and delicious food. And I’m trying to sleep in as much as possible before the girls get here because I know that we won’t be able to once they’re here!

  • What a great weekend of accomplishments! We have Food Truck Friday (Mike and I joke and call it Fri-Yay haha), and it’s the best! I love getting to see all my neighbors 🙂

    Meg, Borrowed Heaven

    • I don’t understand why more neighborhoods don’t do Food Truck Fridays! I feel like the food truck industry has exploded, and it’s always so much fun to get to try a bunch of different foods in one area!

  • Oh food truck Friday sounds like alot of fun!! The town over from me has a few a year but I haven’t been yet. It is on my to do list the next time they have it. I can’t believe the twins will be here soon, how exiting. Yay for twins!! Yes, I love twins and I love being like oh I’m a twin! haha

    • Like I said we don’t have any experience with twins in our family, so I’m so excited to get to just experience it all together! And the food trucks were such a blast, and I hope that they do it again soon! And you totally need to check it out next time the other town is doing a food truck festival! You’d love it!

  • I wish my neighborhood had a food truck friday! So fun and the food sounds delicious! Glad you had a productive weekend!

    • Hopefully they end up putting together an event soon! I feel like it’d be pretty easy to throw together, and it’s always so much fun! Plus you can’t beat getting to try out a bunch of different food all in one place!

  • LOL on the saxophone pic. Too funny. It cracks me up anytime KC does something like that. Glad to see he’s not alone in the world of blog hubbies. 😛 Glad you guys got so much done, and I always love a Food Truck event!! I wish they happened more often here! 🙂 I can’t believe how soon you’ll be parents!! XO – Alexandra

    Simply Alexandra: My Favorite Things

    • Haha and yes KC is definitely not alone in the world of husbands that like to play with kids toys! I swear we can’t walk down the toy aisle of any store without Chris picking up toys and playing with them! And Food Truck events really are the best! This one was pretty small, but I’m hoping that they’ll do another event soon because we had such a blast!

  • Food Truck Fridays sounds SO good… and that sunset was gorgeous!! Love that gorgeous sky!! Totally think the girls need a sax. And the guitar. We can find a catch name for their Girl Band. 😉

    • Food Truck Friday really was so awesome, and I’m so glad that we ended up going to the front of the neighborhood and eating dinner up there. And Chris used to play the sax in high school and college, so I’m hoping that the girls will get some of his musical ability because I have zero musical talent!
