Happy Monday everybody! Is everybody ready to kick off a new week, or are you like me that you’re still wishing that the weekend had an extra day? This Monday is little extra special for this blog because three years I hit publish on my very first blog post! It’s still so surreal that three years ago I decided to start writing about mine and Chris’s weekend trips and everything else under the sun when it came to our lives.
While it’s definitely been a while since I’ve actually written about one of our trips, I love coming back to this space every week, even if it’s just to share a weekend update. So in the spirit of The Wandering Weekenders, let’s get into a little weekend update with the always amazing Biana!
Chris and I have had a lot of very quiet Friday nights at home lately, so when my company got tickets for the Astros game for everybody in the Accounting department and our significant others, Chris and I couldn’t have been more excited for a night out instead of at home!
Chris met up with me at my office before we headed to a bar near the stadium for drinks and appetizers with some of my coworkers. It was so much fun to meet everybody’s significant others and just talk about things that weren’t work related. Everybody else decided to walk to the stadium because we weren’t that far, but since my feet were already starting to swell, Chris and I caught an Uber over to the stadium.
The game was definitely an exciting one, not only did the Astros win, but there was quite a bit of exciting non baseball action as well! Our seats were right on the third base foul line, and right in the middle of one of the innings, I noticed this guy standing next to us and then all of a sudden he just jumped over the side of the field. We were all just kind of looking at each other when he started walking towards the players that were out on the field. The security guys noticed him at this point, so they jumped on the field and started running towards him, so he took off running in the opposite direction. He was a lot faster than the security guys, but the only reason that he got caught was because his shorts weren’t tight enough to stay up around his hips, so they fell down and he tripped and fell. It was seriously so hilarious and I’m so glad that I got some of it in a video!
The rest of the game was spent relaxing, eating some stadium food, and just enjoying being out on a Friday night! Every Friday night home game the Astros have fireworks at the stadium, and as much as I would have loved to stay for the fireworks, my feet were swelling pretty badly and starting to hurt, so we decided to head home a little early. It was such a fun night though, and I’m so thankful that our company plans fun little outings like this for us.
Even though we were out late Friday night, we were up bright and early Saturday because we were headed to the Astros game at noon, but we also needed to go and test drive cars. Since we found out that we’re having twins, we knew that we’d need a bigger car for driving around in Texas. Both of our cars are plenty big enough for two car seats, but I know that we’d be filled to the brims if we had to go on a long car trip. After test driving on Saturday I think that we have it narrowed down to two different cars, so now it’s just a matter of deciding which one we can get the better deal on.
We had a little bit of extra time after test driving so we made a quick stop at Baby Gap, just to see what they had. As if Chris and I didn’t already know that we were going to be in trouble with two girls, we quickly figured out how much trouble when we went shopping at Baby Gap. Thankfully they had a lot of things on sale, which we were able to capitalize on, but I have a feeling that I’ll be spending all of my clothes money on clothes for the girls, and I’m totally ok with that!
We had our company tickets for the Astros game on Saturday, so we invited our friends Jenny and Michael to go with us. The Aggie game was going on at the same time as the Astros game, so the guys sat next to each other and streamed the Aggie game on their phones so they could make sure that they stayed on track with everything, while Jenny and I just sat down and talked. Thankfully, the Aggies and the Astros both won on Saturday, so there were lots of happy faces after both of the games were over!
After the game was over, Chris and I stopped by our friends house who had just brought their sweet baby boy home from the NICU. It was so good to see them and their sweet boy, and just to catch up. It’s been a really crazy time for them right now, and I know that their so happy to all be at home together!
We spent the rest of the night just kind of relaxing and watching some football. We made a quick pit stop at Steel City Pops on our way home from our friends house so that Chris could finally try them out, and of course he loved them, and we also grabbed a late dinner at Chuy’s because I can’t say no to the creamy jalapeño during this pregnancy! It was a great end to our busy day!
It had been a whirlwind of a weekend so far, so Chris and I were looking to having a day to just relax around the house. Chris spent a little bit of time cleaning out the garage and then ran some errands while I did the laundry and got some blogging done. We had wanted to the nursery decorated since we got the two major pieces of furniture in, but we needed some picture frames and pictures which we hadn’t received yet, so we decided to hold off, and try to get that done during the week. Then we’ll be able to move all the baby stuff that we have sitting in our living room upstairs to the nursery!
Anyways, we had a great weekend filled with lots of friend time and lots of Astros games too! It had been a while since we’d had a weekend like this, and it might be the last for a while, so we definitely tried to enjoy it as much as possible, and we totally did!
Did you have a good weekend? Do you enjoy going to pro baseball games?
